Financial settling-in support for Nurses proceeding overseas.

Nurses and other professionals proceeding overseas are faced with a formidable array of expenses prior to receipt of even their first month's salary.  Whether for accommodation, food, clothing or for the families and children left behind, the demands of the first few weeks are a difficult time. Employers are increasingly reluctant to become involved in providing any type of additional financial assistance to foreign nurses even during this settling-in period, which cannot be made equally available to local staff. 

The opportunities, even for overseas working professionals to borrow money until they are well established in their new countries of residence, are very limited. Even where facilities are available, they are very expensive and generally require considerable collateral as well.

St George's are very conscious of this need and have affiliated in the UK with a company called STG Finance Ltd.  The sole role of STG Finance Ltd. is to provide short-term financial assistance by way of salary loans to professionals taking up employment in the United Kingdom, for the first time.

Subject to the agreement of all parties to a monthly repayment from salary, loans may be drawn upon departure from the Philippines in any combination of Pesos and Sterling pounds.

Loans are repayable over six months in five equal installments from the second month which gives the new arrival a "free month" to find their feet before having to carry the burden of loan repayment.
